Diver Down
by Mark Greenawalt

Those of you who have been subscribing to the Green Pages for a while now may remember my New Year's resolution.  I set my sights on becoming a certified SCUBA diver.  It's taken all the way to August to get my butt in gear, but I have now completed the indoor pool and classroom portions of the certification process.  I still have to complete the open water dive portion and then I will be free to roam the waters of the earth.

You know me (at least most of you do), I had to go and buy a disposable underwater camera to take pictures during the class of myself and the other students.  Unfortunately there wasn't enough light so they didn't turn out.  This is my second failed attempt at underwater photography since I did a photoshoot with Stacy in the Nashville YMCA where none of the shots developed.  Oh well, I've got another underwater photoshoot scheduled for September with a Phoenix area model ... they say the third time's a charm!

Notes From Nashville
by Mark Greenawalt

Some of my good friends in Nashville have achieved new milestones in their careers and I wanted to dedicate a paragraph to congratulating them.  First up:  Dawna Bradford.  Dawna will now have a track record as a professional songwriter with her song "You Can't Say That On The Radio."  The song, which she co-wrote with Bryan Keith Burns, will be included on Trick Pony's upcoming debut CD release.  Burns is the guitarist in the band and he has had cuts with Anita Cochran and Joe Diffie among others.  Dawna is a prime canidate for a big publishing songwriter deal now on music row.  I'm so proud of her!

Next up is Chris St.Croix.  I was checking my e-mail one day and there, in the headlines of the internationally published newsletter from MP3.com, I saw Chris's mug staring back at me.  The story read, "MP3.com's new Country artist Chris St. Croix has just signed a publishing deal with r.p.m Music group in Nashville. Co-owned by Country "Entertainer of the Year" Tim McGraw and manager Scott Siman, the new company will also provide management services for its clients Tim, Billy Gilman and Jessica Andrews and others."  You go Chris!  Pitch the songs we co-wrote first.

And thirdly, my Kentucky resources say that Molly Reid has just recorded a new CD with producer J. Gary Smith.  I was fortunate enough to have played acoustic guitar on Molly's first CD and I also took the cover photo.  You can now go listen to all of the songs from the first Molly Reid CD on her new web page that I have set up for her on mp3.com.  The address is pretty easy to remember at www.mp3.com/mollyreid .  Go check it out and then check back often for information on the new CD.  Good luck, Molly!

The Human Canvas
by Mark Greenawalt

My latest passion combines art, photography, and glamorous models all in one shot.  The craft is called Bodypainting and my Body Painting web page is now on-line.  I've got a couple of pictures of my work posted so far and I intend on adding to this page as often as possible.  The web page can be found at http://members.home.net/classx/bodypaint/bodypaint.htm.  This page also includes books for sale on the art of body painting, links to other body painters and products, and a few computer rendered rough drafts for upcoming body painting sessions.  If you know of any photogenic female models in the Phoenix area (or ones who are willing to travel), send them my way if they are interested in being painted.  This could turn into a very cool profession and I've already captured the attention of a local magazine (I'll tell more as the plot develops).  Go check out the site and tell me what you think.

More Bullet Items

-Get your Southwest Models t-shirts at the store at www.swmodels.net for the low, low price of $12.99 each.  They come in all of your typical sizes.  Or, if you'd prefer, you can order a mouse pad or coffee mug.  These are being sold through Cafe Press ( http://www.cafepress.com/swmodels/ ).  If you are interested in selling your own t-shirts, click the link on this page and say that I referred you...I'll be glad you did.  Then once you refer people, you can get in on their commissions.  Oooh, the power of the pyramid.  Also while you are at the store, check out my expanded selection of books and videos on glamour photography and modeling.

-Each month in the year 2000, Future-Class X Publishing is giving away a free signed and numbered, limited edition art print of my pencil drawing entitled Mill's Barn .  To be placed in the drawing, all you have to do is sign the guestbook and you will be in the next month's drawing.  The winner of this month's drawing is Troy McMurtry.  Troy is an electrical engineer that I worked with at I.C. Thomasson Associates in Nashville.  We both flew the coupe and he ended up in Kentucky while I flew to Phoenix.  I hope you like the print Troy, and by the way, I'm hiring out here in Phoenix...wanna come out and work for me?

Type at you next month!!!
