How about them Diamondbacks!!! It took us seven games to overcome baseball's reigning champs, the New York Yankees, but we sure are proud of our home team bringing home the World Series trophy. Tickets were very hard to come by for the games downtown at Bank One Ballpark so I didn't get to attend any of the World Series games, but I did get to go to one of the play-off games against the St. Louis Cardinals. Anyone who watched had to agree that these were some of the most exciting World Series games ever played...especially the 9th inning of the 7th game which was an emotional roller coaster. Ahh, to be #1. Congratulations Arizona Diamondbacks.
One of my favorite things about having relatives visit from back east is
getting to play tour guide. Thanks to my sister-in-law, her family,
and my brother and his wife I had the opportunity to re-explore some of
Arizona's awesome landscapes this month. Over the span of a couple of
weeks I visited the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Meteor Crater, Sunset Crater, The
Biosphere 2, Oak Creek Canyon, NASCAR at PIR, Tonto Natural Bridge, Canyon
DeChelly, Monument Valley, and I even got to see the statue of a man "standin'
on the corner in Winslow, Arizona" and it was such a fine site to
see. There was even a painting of "a girl, my lord, in a flat bed
ford" on the store window just like the Eagles song describes.
I have posted some of my pictures from these jaunts on my photography website, www.markgreenawalt.com . When you get there click on the landscape button. There are more pictures to come once I have time to get them scanned and uploaded.
Time is running out to get your copy of the limited edition 2002 bodypainting
calendar for that special someone on your Christmas list. I've had
orders from all over the country including GA, MD, CT, TX, OH, CO, KS, VA, WI,
and of course AZ. Only 200 copies were printed and they are going
fast. Thank you to everyone who has helped support my artform and if you
haven't placed your order yet, you can buy your very own copy at www.futureclassx.com/bodypaint/calendar/2002/2002calendar.htm
today! Someday you'll be glad you did. ;>p
Work now begins on creating more images for possible inclusion in the 2003 bodypainting calendar. In fact, two new images have been added to the bodypainting web page this month. One is a pantomime and the other is aptly named "Wet Paint". The model for both images is Anna Richardson of Mesa and my photographer was once again Don Crossland. Don's new website is up and running and it looks great. Check it out at www.sexycrazycool.com .
-I am going to be interviewed for a profile in Penn State Alumni Magazine next month. The editor of the magazine has asked the writer, Janice Arenofsky of Scottsdale, to center the article around my bodypainting art form. I'll keep you posted.
-Well, the song "Time For Me" that I co-wrote with Dawna Bradford didn't quite make the list for the benefit CD that I mentioned last month. I have been asked, however, to play the song live with LeeAnne Savage in Tucson at the CD release party on December 13th. This should be a blast and I'm really looking forward to working with Lee! E-mail me for more details if you live in the Tucson area.
Type at you next month,
