VOL 6 ISSUE 12 | December 2003 |
I received a pleasant surprise on New Year's Eve in the New Times Magazine. They published this picture of Anna Lieb with the bodypainted Les Paul Guitar that I painted one year ago. The painting was done as a live demonstration at the Paper Heart Art Gallery's annual "Sex, Drugs, n' Rock and Roll" extravaganza. I will be doing another live demonstration again this year on Friday, January 2nd at 7:00 p.m. This year I plan to paint a portrait of Jim Morrison of the Doors on a beautiful new model named Kayla Rei. Kayla is currently featured in the February issue of Genesis Magazine and her website is www.gotkayla.com . For details about the event, go to the Paper Heart's website at www.thepaperheart.com . Hope to see you there.
The desktop calendar is available for ordering and you can view all of
the images on the web page that I have set up at http://www.futureclassx.com/bodypaint/calendar/2004/2004calendar.htm
. In addition to the desktop calendar, there is also a wall calendar available
from http://www.cafeshops.com/bodypainting
that incorporates all of the same images and one additional image of Lynette
Brooks by photographer Steve Gladysz on the cover.
- My oldest son, Sage, was selected to sing a solo with the children's choir at church this month. He did a fantastic job and we were so proud of him. For a 10-year-old, he took it all in stride and was very professional.
- Don Crossland and I have been moving forward on getting a book published of our work. It will chronicle the stories behind his photography methods, my bodypainting techniques, and hopefully some interesting comments from the models who are painted. We are brainstorming new ideas for projects and will be moving into production of the new bodypaintings in the coming year.
- Santa brought me a new filter for my camera (graduated neutral density) and a 42" reflector with 5 color options. I plan on doing a little more of my own photography this year, but I still value the opportunity to work with other professional photographers every chance I get.
E-ya later,
