Near Misses on McEnroe Show and Club Jenna
by Mark Greenawalt

September was a very busy month despite the fact that two of my most anticipated bodypainting sessions fell through.  I had been contacted by CNBC to appear on the John McEnroe Show and do a body painting of a Dallas Cowboys football uniform.  Other guests were to be Mike Ditka, Tony Dorsett, and Eli Manning.  It wasn't until I had arrived in New York that I received the call that the taping had been cancelled.  Although bummed, I made lemonade out of lemons, so to speak.  The station covered my expenses to still spend the night and see the sights of downtown Manhattan.  I visited Ground Zero, Wall Street, and saw the Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge.  Also while in New York, I was invited to visit with Temptu, the people responsible for the bodypaint used on the X-Men's Mystique character among many other notorious images.  They gave me a few samples of some new products they are soon going to be introducing and made me feel very welcome in the Big Apple.  Below is a picture of me with Michael Benjamin and Roy Zuckerman of Temptu, a shot of Ground Zero, and the Brooklyn Bridge.

Next up was the missed opportunity to do bodypainting for Jenna Jamison's Club Jenna here in Scottsdale, Arizona.  The plans were all in place for me to paint four models for this 4th annual porn party whose theme was "Next to Nothing - What you are wearing is almost as important as what you are not."  The models were to be painted in lingerie outfits, but the City of Scottsdale apparently put the kabosh on it and I was informed the day of the show that my part of the festivities had been cancelled in fear of the club having it's liquor license pulled.  Duane from www.clubjennaevents.com was still very cool and gave me VIP treatment to attend the meet-and-greet with the stars which included Skye Blue, Penthouse Pet Sunny Leone, Tera Patrick, Tyler Faith, Haven, Gina Lynn, Ashton Moore, and CJI contract star Krystal Steal.  I shared my portfolio with Jenna Jamison and Ashton Moore who are both residents of the Metro Phoenix area.  Jenna seemed genuinely thrilled to know that there was a bodypainter in town and indicated that she really wanted to do a bodypainting session with me.  She asked for my number and hopefully I'll be working with her soon.  Here is one shot that I took of Jenna, who I have to say looks really great with her strait auburn hair.

Blue Food Magazine Kicks Off It's First Annual Blue Ball
by Mark Greenawalt

David Salcido, the creative force behind Blue Food Magazine, invited me to do bodypainting for this first annual Blue Ball extravaganza.  I took the challenge and came up with two new bodypaintings, one with a great new model that I hadn't worked with before (Amy Richey) and one with a seasoned pro who has come to be a friend of mine (Cheyenne Silver).  Amy was painted before the show with an airbrushed lattice of flesh colored straps and Cheyenne was painted silver, live on stage in front of hundreds of Blue Ball attendees. CopperCon 24 - Here There Be Dragons
by Mark Greenawalt

It's that time of year again.  This is my third annual CopperCon science fiction convention in which I have done live demonstrations.  This year's theme was "Here There Be Dragons" so I did my two bodypaintings with this slant.  I was elated to once again work with the two lovely models Jill Valdisar and Dale O for two unique sessions.  Jill was painted with the dragon soaring across the moon image that I had previously painted on a lifecast by Gullwing.  Dale was painted from head to toe as a reptilian woman.  Again, for more pictures and the details, click here.

Other News...

- I have had an article published in Sonik Magazine about tribute bands.  The article is called "Rock Stars Revisited" and it is a three page story in the current issue.  If you don't live in the Metro Phoenix area and can't pick up a copy of the magazine at the numerous nightclub locations that carry it, you can read the story on-line by clicking here .

-  Upcoming events include the Playtime Halloween Bash on October 24th, and the Body Art Ball on November 14th.  Also coming up on the first Friday of 2005 I'll be featured again at the Paper Heart Art Gallery's annual Sex, Drugs, and Rock & Roll extravaganza.

E-ya later,
