This month the Tom Leykis Show did a live broadcast at McDuffy's House of Draft
in downtown Tempe, Arizona. Two of the sponsors of the show were Red
Stripe Beer and Smirnoff Fire (the newest companion to the successful Smirnoff
Ice). Alliance Beverage Distributors contacted me about painting two
models with these corporate logos for the live event and hired models from
Arizona Models in Tempe. Tom Leykis was promoting Flash Fridays where guys
were encouraged to flash their high beams at girls in an effort to get the girls
to flash them. Judging by the number of callers that reported successful
flashing encounters, the show must have a fairly large and very liberal
audience. The painted models roamed around the bar handing out T-shirts
and other swank and took hundreds of pictures with the primarily male
audience. For more of the story and to check out a few more pictures, go

I contributed to the festivities for the third consecutive year for the benefit
for Wildhorse Ranch
where the proceeds will help care for and feed rescued horses. This year
the event was called "A Night In The Wild West" and was held at Christies
Caberet , the upscale gentlemen's club in Phoenix. In keeping with
the theme, I painted three of the dancers as a sheriff, a Native American, and a
cowgirl in black. I also painted the Ranch owner's daughter with a silhouetted
horse against a sunset with the Wildhorse Ranch Rescue banner. For more
pictures and the rest of the story, please visit http://www.futureclassx.com/bodypaint/brigette/gggChristies/girlsgirlsgirls.htm

I
first met Julie Holman at the first annual Horror & Sci-Fi Film Festival in
Tempe where I painted Purgatori and Lady Death. It was there that she
invited me to be a guest panelist at the upcoming Phoenix
Film Festival. I gladly accepted and ended up doing a special effects
panel with an esteemed cast of special effects artists including David
Blum (Story boards/Post Production), Eugene Park (Compositor), Rick
Rische (“Terminator” and “Titanic”), Michael
Lennick (Dr. Teller’s Very Large Bomb), and David
Stipes (Emmy Award winning VE “Star Trek”). As part of the panel I
completed a special effects make-up demonstration of a dryad and an adolescent
robot (played by my son Sage). Also at the festival, a screening
was held for the world premiere of the Romey & Jules movie that I did
special effects make-up.

- On May 5th-7th, I will again be taking part in the LepreCon sci-fi convention here in Phoenix. The tentative plan so far is a joint venture with the Heinlein Society and a blood drive. For a sneak peak of the bodypainting plans, check out "I Will Fear No Evil" by Robert A. Heinlein.
- On June 13th I will be the artist guest of honor and will be showing some of my bodypainting images, lifecasts, and doing a live demonstration at the Herberger Theater as part of their Second Act series. More details coming soon.
- I will be teaching bodypainting classes again in 2006 at the Face And Body Art International Convention in Orlando, Florida.
