I'd
have to say that bodypainting at the Playboy Mansion is really one of the
ultimate goals that a body artist can hope to achieve. I'm thrilled to say
that I have now officially added that line item to my resume. In November
I joined with Pashur, Edgar Garayua, and Josh Cruey to paint 23 Playboy models
for a lingerie/pajama party at Hugh Heffner's house. Painting Playboy models is truly an incredible experience, but partying with them thereafter in the infamous Grotto is the proverbial icing on the cake. This is my son Sage. Once again he is playing the part of guinnea pig for my art. This time he became and alien which he named Arboc from the planet Neptune (Arboc is cobra spelled backwards, FYI). He endured the application of a bald cap and then being spray with paint from an airbrush in front of the film festival attendees in front of the Tempe Centerpoint Harkins Theater. Later in the evening he split the top prize in the International Horror and Sci-Fi Film Festival Costume Contest (he took the plaque and they got the money). On day 2 of the film festival I did a bodypainting with Paris Harshman emulating Kierra Knightly's Lady Guinevere from the movie King Arthur. I entailed the help of Kevin from www.hardwearcreations.com to help fabricate the leather costume and provide the weapons. I painted Paris with waterbased paints from Mehron that were threatened when it started to spit rain. Luckily we were able to complete the painting, shoot some pictures, and then headed into the theater where I was part of the film festival lecture series on special effects make-up. Halloween is always a busy time for bodypainters and this year was no different. Unfortunately I didn't get to attend this party, but I did paint two models for the promotional advertisements. Dirty Dogg Saloon is a wild nightclub located in Scottsdale. Just check out the website at www.dirtydoggsaloonaz.com and you'll get the picture. The party was titled Sinner Saint Party and the promo photos included two of the hot "Girls of Dirty Dogg" painted as a devil and an angel. Click on the picture for the rest of the story.
Each year around the end of October is a very special time in the Greenawalt residence. This year I delved deeper into the artisty of special effects make-up and applied a vampire prosthetic to myself. My son went as a knight who had been cut and bruised in battle and I did his make-up too. I have started a little page to document the joyous Halloween seasons past and to prepare for those yet to come to pass. Click on the picture for the shots.
