VOL 10 ISSUE 7 | July 2007 |
It had been four years since I first worked with Jen Amber on the Arizona Diamondbacks back painting. Since then she has become a highly sought-after model with a very extensive portfolio on her websites at www.jenamber.com and www.onemodelplace.com. I included the Diamondbacks painting in my 2004 calendar and there was never a doubt that this new painting would be included in my 2008 calendar. This time I painted a white bikini on her with turquois polka dots. The bikini top and bottoms were painted with alcohol-based Reel Creations bodypaints so the painting was waterproof. This allowed me to shoot a few shots with an underwater camera too, but none of those shots rivaled the sunset shots we took. The image above is the shot that made it into the 2008 calendar.
I met Christine on the film set of the Villikon Chronicles and I had hoped that we would get an opportunity to work together again. Since I am still trying to learn some of the buttons and features of my new camera, I decided to contact a few models and see if they wanted to do some TFCD modeling with me. Christine was first on my list to contact and luckily she was available. I have an offshoot website of my photography work that doesn't involve bodypainting and that's where I have set up Christine's pictures from that session. We had planned on doing a quick bodypainting project too, but we ran out of time and we've postponed that for now. All of the shots on this page were taken on the same day except the shot of her in the warrioress outfit during the Villikon Chronicles shoot at the Imperial Sand Dunes.
In October, Contact Magazine will be changing their name to Kontakt Magazine. They will be holding a masquerade party to unveil the first issue with the new name and many urban design firms will be on hand as well as a who's who of the local fashion and entertainment scene. For the party promotional material, publisher Don Crossland brought me on-board to paint a mask on fashion model Michelle from the S.I.M. Modeling Agency. Here is the shot that was used for the advertisements.
