Wildhorse Ranch Rescue and Mudpony Art Gallery Girls Event at Christies Cabaret

A NIGHT IN THE WILD WEST
The Annual Girls! Girls! Girls! Event
At Christie's Cabaret, Phoenix, Arizona

Benefiting the Wildhorse Ranch Rescue in Gilbert, AZ
March 25th, 2006

Every year about this time, out here in the wild West, there is a benefit for the Wildhorse Ranch Rescue located in Gilbert, Arizona.  It is a party sometimes referred to as Girls!Girls!Girls!  and this is the third year that I have been involved with it.  Each year seems to outdo the year before.

The Ranch website is http://www.mudpony.com .  They are a non-proffit organization that takes in abandoned horses and cares for them while seeking qualified owners to adopt them.  Owner Kim Maher approached me about doing a live bodypainting demonstration three years ago which she described as an art gallery showing of works that either portrays women or art that was created by women.  She felt that having several women bodypainted live at the event would fit in nicely.  That year the event was held at the ranch and I ended up doing three bodypaintings.

Last year the event became a black-tie event and relocated to Christie's Cabaret, an upscale gentlemen's club in Phoenix.  The location proved to be successful and I completed two bodypaintings last year.  Building on last years success, the event was again held at Christie's this year and renamed "A Night in the Wild West."  Earlier in the day, I was a guest panelist at the Phoenix Film Festival, so there was some concern as to whether I would be able to attend.  Because of this, I had not confirmed any models for the evening.  But since this was a bar full of topless dancers, there was no trouble finding willing canvases.  Very beautiful canvases I might add.
