'Ride The Coast' Recognized In Film Festival
by Mark Greenawalt

Ride The Coast wins award of recognition at IndieFest Film Festival

I'd like to give a huge thank you to Kimber Leigh for entering my song "Ride The Coast" into the The Indie Fest Film Festival where I won the Award of Recognition for this original song. It's been thrilling to see all of the international accolades coming in for the Taking Your Crack At Filmmaking film by Kimber and Elena Thornton's team. It's a bit surreal to know that my song is being played on movie screens in Paris, France (Zeal International Film Festival), Athens, Greece (Athens International Monthly Art Film Festival), Siena, Italy (The Siena International Film Showcase), Beruit, Lebanon (Lebanese Independent Film Festival), and many other screenings across the US...and the film is bringing home many laurels for best film in it's category.

Wanna hear the song? It's on all of the streaming platforms, but the best version might be the music video that my son Zane helped me film while I was in San Francisco. It's on YouTube, click here.

A Nittany Lion In Arizona?
by Mark Greenawalt

Superstition Mountain with Mountain Lion Shadow at the Spring Equinox

I finally had the opportunity to photograph the mountain lion shadow of the Superstition Mountains. It only last for a few moments as the sun sets and they say it is elusive and can only be seen around the spring and autumn equinox. This shot was taken from a trail just off Superstition Blvd and Goldfield Road on March 25th at about 6:20pm (sunset was 6:44pm). I wore my Penn State hat to represent my Lions! I have postcards of this shot in my store if your interested, btw.

Drone Footage For Aerial Arizona Series
by Mark Greenawalt

Drone footage of Saquaro Cactus in the Arizona Deserts

Before I moved to Arizona, I thought Saguaro cacti were maybe 10' to 15' tall max. The grandeur of seeing them in real life climbing to heights of 40' to 50' is just incredible. They are so unique and symbolic of the American Southwest and this is the only place in the world they thrive. I found this location near Casa Grande, Arizona that has many Saguaros in close proximity and timed it right to get some daytime looks and the beautiful Arizona sunset. This is part of my new AERIAL ARIZONA SERIES and the footage was shot with a DJI Air 2s drone and edited in Premiere. I wrote the song 'Whispered Trail' and recorded it in Logic. I have several other drone shoots completed and just waiting to have time to do the editing and recording the music to go with them.
