Coats of Paint Kickstarting January 21st
by Mark Greenawalt

My first book of bodypainting now has a name. It will be "Coats of Paint - The Body Art of Mark Greenawalt". Plus I have selected the cover artwork to be the piano bodypainting with model Megan Brock that was painted at Lotus Contemporary Art Gallery. My friend Don Crossland has been helping with the graphic design of the book and the incredible body painter Craig Tracy will be writing a forward for the book. I am currently about 85% complete with the layout using InDesign software and most of the images have been selected. Note that I can still make some last minute decisions, so let me know if you have a particular painting that you think I should include. I plan to start the Kickstarter on the evening of Saturday, January 21st and I'm hoping to have a kickoff party somewhere and invite the models and others who have contributed and supported me throughout this sixteen year adventure.

Music Video For Legacy By Ryan Tree
by Mark Greenawalt

I was involved in a really cool film project in November. Director Ryan Johnston of Art of War Pictures was doing a short film music video for a song called Legacy by recording artist Ryan Tree. I signed a nondisclosure agreement so I can't tell you too much quite yet, but I can tell you a few things that have leaked onto social media already. There were four days of filming and I was on set for the last two which were held at the domes in Casa Grande and Watson Lake in Prescott. My role was doing the special effects makeup and costume design for the "Scaler" character(s). The picture below is the artist concept picture that I was given to emulate. I'll keep you posted as this develops and I'll eventually be posting a lot of behind the scenes footage of the process.

Art Fashion Show At Unexpected Gallery
by Mark Greenawalt

On Sunday, November 20th I took part in the third installation of the Art Fashion Show hosted by Kristine Nicole. For this event I submitted seven of my art pieces that were featured in the runway fashion show where models were "done up" to represent each of the paintings. This time the event was held at the Unexpected Gallery in Phoenix which had an unbelievably cool video wall in the background that made the photos from the event really pop. My new daughter-in-law Savannah was one of the models in the show, but this time she was representing another artists painting. Check out the page on my website to see all of the pictures from the event and even a behind the scenes video. The link is here .

Photos Published in Sources For Design
by Mark Greenawalt

Lawrence Lake Media has created a new digital magazine called Resources for Design that pays homage to the iconic leaders in the design community. The second issue of the magazine was just released and it includes a article on Walter Spitz, the owner of Creative Designs in Lighting where I work. Sources for Design prides itself on visually stunning photos of the best work from each designer so I was very honored to have several of my photos make the cut. You can find the magazine and an extensive online directory at the website www.SourcesForDesign.com and you can go directly to issue #2 by clicking here. Here are the photos that I shot that were published in the magazine. The first is a shot of Marina Heights from the north bank of Tempe Town Lake and the second is the entry lobby to a private hangar at Scottsdale Airpark.
