A Weekend In Maui And Pictures To Prove It
by Mark Greenawalt

Wailua Falls on the road to Hana in Maui, Hawaii. Photo by Mark Greenawalt

I am working on a hotel renovation project for the Outrigger in Ka'anapali on the island of Maui in Hawaii. One of the perks of working on this project was a site visit to verify existing conditions. While there I decided to extend my stay into the weekend and do some photography hikes. I got to see so many of the photo opps on the island and have been editing some of the shots for my online gallery of fine art photography. You can see some of the new prints available on my website at http://www.markgreenawalt.com/classx/photo/nature.htm . Everything from waterfalls to blowholes, bamboo to banyan trees, and lots of ocean.

Concert Photography - Extreme And Living Colour
by Mark Greenawalt

Burning Hot Events Extreme and Living Colour review and photo gallery

It seems like it has been quite a while since I've done official photography for a concert with Burning Hot Events, but the time had finally come to cover another concert. This time it was Extreme with Living Colour and this was one I was really looking forward to. My band used to play a couple of Extreme songs including More Than Words, Hole Hearted, and I took a crack at doing lead vocals when we did Decadent Dance. Nuno was incredible to see live and he seemed flawless to me. Cherone was quite the entertainer, but his voice seemed a little flat at times. On the other hand, Corey Glover's voice was remarkable, although I didn't know most of the songs in Living Colours set. Feel free to check out my full review and the concert photography gallery that I posted on the Burning Hot Events site at https://www.burninghotevents.com/2024/02/27/extreme_living-colour_02-23-24/ . Also, feel free to see my other concert photos on my website at http://www.markgreenawalt.com/classx/photo/commercial.htm .

JUSTIFIED - A New Mark Greenawalt Original Now Streaming
by Mark Greenawalt

Justified is an original song by singer songwriter Mark Greenawalt

I somehow found some time this month to get some songwriting done and even followed up with the recording session. For this song I decided to buy a Dunlop Cry Baby pedal for the guitar work. I used to have one and I remember using it on my keyboards for that weird sound when my band, Center Alley, played 'Money For Nothing.' I'm also proud to say that the horn section on this song is me playing real instruments. I just did a couple of tracks of saxophone and one track of trumpet...me and my trombone are not ready for prime time. I also experimented with singing with a little more rasp than usual and played the guitar solos until I had blisters on my fingers. Well worth the sacrifice. Here's the link to the song on YouTube (https://youtu.be/4uqZo8Ic1Gk?si=IpL1DsyFmgZmf-hq), but I encourage you to stream it on whatever service you use and consider adding it to a playlist and/or downloading it.
