The 4th Annual International Horror & Sci-Fi Film Festival

Chandler Cinemas, Chandler , AZ
October 23rd - 26th, 2008

For the 4th Annual Horror and Sci-Fi Film Festival in October of 2008 I teamed up with Phoenix ComiCon to do a repeat performance of the Marvel Zombie presentation that I did at the 2008 Phoenix ComiCon event. I was so glad that I was able to get three of the girls from ComiCon '08 to work with me again for this project. Joanne reprised her role as Elektra while Courtney and Donna created new Marvel Characters, The White Queen and Dark Phoenix, respectively. Joining us for this project was Cira and I costumed her in the Black Spider-man costume that my friend Ed constructed (with a bit of help from me).

I did the make-up a little differently this time also. I learned a few new tricks from one of the other instructors when I was teaching a class at the UK Face and Bodypainting Convention earlier in the month. In short, it involved latex, cotton, and tissue paper for the materials and then some grease paints and face paints for the coloring. Of course there was a little stage blood thrown in for good measure.

One of the celebrity guests at this year's event was actor Jeffrey Combs from the classic horror film Re-Animator. His other film credits include FearDotCom, House on Haunted Hill, and I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. Here is a shot of him with the Zombie girls.

The photoshoot was wonderful and we found a very cool pile of concrete and rubble for some of the shots. There were lots to choose from, but here are just a few shots from the project.
