Yaquina Head Lighthouse in Oregon

The main attraction was to be the tallest lighthouse in Oregon, the 95′ tall Yaquina Head Light. However, I was just as intrigued with the thousands of basalt ‘cobble stones’ that had eroded smooth over time and caused the receding waves to sound like nothing I had ever heard before. There was a staircase down to this vantage point of Cobble Beach and the lighthouse above, and though it was tricky to walk on, I highly recommend experiencing it.
