Microburst Over Tempe

I happened to be in Tempe at the College Avenue Commons and I was photographing the shade structure. I worked on this project when I worked at SmithGroup. The sky was looking ominous and there was lighting that was making the clouds look purple in my photos. I happened to glance around and suddenly there was a microburst that was dumping a torrential amount of rain in a relatively small funnel of atmosphere. It was truly remarkable to see the sunset below the clouds, the lighting above, and the rain tying them together.
