  • Owner's Statement:Everest Holdings purchased this 126 room hotel centrally located in the heart of downtown Scottsdale in July 2006, completed a $5 million renovation, and opened Hotel Indigo in February 2007. Hotel Indigo offers an upscale, fun and fashion forward boutique experience at a more relaxed price-point than other boutique hotel concepts. The hotel's focus is on experience over pure function; harmony is brought indoors from a desert with the beautiful colors of the earth and air. The hotel features an indoor/outdoor balcony and Divine Lounge. Along with the indoor/outdoor concept, there are perfect proportions that appear in the guest rooms and hallways of the hotel. The hallways of the hotel are adorned by indigenous desert imagery from four local up and coming artists. In addition to the hallway art, there are very large pieces of public art on the sides of the building. Hotel Indigo provides an inspirational retreat for the discerning traveler: a place to reflect, relax and replenish. A place of high peace.

  • Project Description:The five-story hotel with the copper-clad, barrel-vaulted roof in downtown Scottsdale started life in the mid-1990s as a Hampton Inn. The hotel, with a Y-shaped footprint, was a perfectly nice, perfectly functional place for business travelers.
But by the time Scottsdale-based Everest Holdings acquired the building several years ago, downtown Scottsdale had changed radically, becoming a hip destination teeming with nightclubs, restaurants and world-class shopping. A traditional business hotel wasn't going to make it in that locale. It was rebranded as a Hotel Indigo, a boutique chain appealing to youthful, urban and style-conscious business and pleasure travelers. (Sources + Design Magazine)
